Our fully accredited three-year Master’s Program in Acupuncture and four-year Master’s Program in Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine prepares students for licensure and professional practice in New York and most states in the US.

Our Degree and Certificate Programs

Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Science/Master of Science in Acupuncture (BPS/MS)

  • The purpose of the Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Science/Master of Science in Acupuncture (BPS/MS) Program is to train acupuncture professionals, grounded in the tradition of Chinese Medicine, with the ability to practice as independent health care providers in a variety of settings.
  • It prepares students for licensure and professional practice of Acupuncture.
  • The three-year 141-credit program contains three strands of courses – TCM, Acupuncture, and Western Biomedical Sciences – each of which consists of an ordered progression of material.
  • Max time allowed to complete program – 6 years.

Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Science/Master of Science in Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine (BPS/MS)

  • The purpose of the Bachelor of Professional Studies in Health Science/Master of Science in Acupuncture with Chinese Herbal Medicine (BPS/MS) Program is to train acupuncturists and Chinese herbal professionals, grounded in the tradition of Chinese Medicine, with the ability to practice as independent health care providers in a variety of settings.
  • It prepares students for licensure and professional practice of both Acupuncture and Chinese Herbology.
  • The four-year 183-credit program contains an additional Chinese Herbology strand of courses. It introduces students to individual herbs and the therapeutic effects and clinical applications of herbal formulas or a combination of individual herbs.
  • Max time allowed to complete program – 8 years.

Certificate in Chinese Herbal Medicine

  • The Chinese Herbal Medicine Program for Acupuncture graduates is designed for licensed acupuncturists and graduates of acupuncture degree programs who wish to add herbal expertise as a component of their professional practice.
  • Prepares students to sit for the NCCAOM Chinese Herbology examination.

Classes Open to Public

NYCTCM offers several classes that are open for enrollment to the general public with no special prerequisites. These classes are designed for people who are interested in Chinese Medicine. They are not for credit.
