Spring 2021 American Rescue Plan Emergency Grant Student Aid Report (Final) see below

The American Rescue Plan was signed on March 11, 2021 and has appropriated approximately $39.6 billion for the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) and represents the third stream of funding appropriated for HEERF to prevent, prepare for, and respond to coronavirus. Taken together, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES Act) (Pub. L. 116–136), the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act, 2021 (CRRSAA) (Pub. L. 116-260), and the ARP represent HEERF I, HEERF II, and HEERF III, respectively.

NYCTCM was allocated and has received $94,602 from the Department of Education pursuant to the Certification and Agreement.

NYCTCM has prioritized awarding of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to its students in the following manner (methodology):

 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from FAFSA  Preliminary Award
 Students with EFC = 0 $1230
 Students with EFC = 1 to 6042 $1080
 Students with EFC = 6043 to 18127 $930
 Students with EFC > 18127, NO ACTIVE FAFSA, or INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS $780

Under the ARP Act, students will receive awards ranging from $780 to $1230. All students enrolled in the Spring 2021 trimester are eligible. An active 2020-2021 FAFSA was NOT required. However, those with completed FAFSAs will be prioritized when determining grant allocation. An estimated 200 students were eligible to participate in program. As of July 15, 2021 89 students received the grant resulting in a total of $94,620 distributed. Payments are made by NYCTCM either via check or by direct application to outstanding balance.

Winter 2021 Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA) Fund: Student Aid Report (Final) see below
NYCTCM was allocated and has received an additional $42,337 in CRRSAA Emergency Grants to be distributed during the Winter 2021 trimester from the Department of Education pursuant to the Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

NYCTCM has prioritized awarding of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to its students in the following manner (methodology):

 Expected Family Contribution (EFC) from FAFSA  Preliminary Award
 Students with EFC = 0 $751
 Students with EFC = 1 to 6042 $651
 Students with EFC = 6043 to 18127 $551
 Students with EFC > 18127 $451

Under Section 314(a)(1) of CRRSAA , students will receive awards ranging from $451 to $751. An estimated 100 students were eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under Section 314(a)(1) of CRRSAA . As of April 5, 2021, 64 students received the grant resulting in a total of $42,364 distributed.

Deadline to Submit CRRSAA Act Emergency Grant Application: March 7, 2021.

Students are required to certify and attest that they have or will incur allowable expenses of food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, childcare, and/or transportation as a result of the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus.

All students who apply will be notified of their eligibility and the amount of their CRRSAA emergency grant award. The CRRSAA requires institutions to provide the emergency financial aid grants to students. The institution may not use that portion of the HEERF set aside for emergency financial aid grants to students to satisfy a student’s outstanding account balance. Therefore, the emergency grant may not be applied towards any outstanding balance for the Winter 2021 trimester. Payment will be made by NYCTCM via check mailed to the permanent address on file for the student.

Spring 2020 CARES Act Emergency Grant Student Aid Report (Final) see below

The federal government recently enacted the CARES Act, which allocates emergency grant funds to colleges, including New York College of Traditional Chinese Medicine to support students and institutions with expenses and financial needs related to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. NYCTCM acknowledges an authorized representative of the institution has signed and returned to the Department of Education the Certification and Agreement and the institution has used, or intends to use, no less than 50 percent of the funds received under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act to provide Emergency Financial Aid Grants to students.

NYCTCM was allocated and has received $42,337 from the Department of Education pursuant to the Certification and Agreement for Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students.

NYCTCM has prioritized awarding of Emergency Financial Aid Grants to its students in the following manner (methodology):

 Students with EFC = 0 $625
 Students with EFC = 1 to 6042 $525
 Students with EFC = 6043 to 18127 $425
 Students with EFC > 18127 $325

Under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act, students will receive awards ranging from $325 to $625. An estimated 100 students were eligible to participate in programs under Section 484 in Title IV of the Higher Education Act of 1965 and thus eligible to receive Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act. As of August 24, 2020, 79 students received the grant resulting in a total of $42,375 distributed.

Students are required to certify and attest that they have or will incur allowable expenses of food, housing, course materials, technology, health care, childcare, and/or transportation as a result of the disruption of campus operations due to coronavirus.

All students who apply will be notified of their eligibility and the amount of their CARES Act emergency grant award. The CARES Act requires institutions to provide the emergency financial aid grants to students. The institution may not use that portion of the HEERF set aside for emergency financial aid grants to students to satisfy a student’s outstanding account balance. Therefore, the emergency grant may not be applied towards any outstanding balance for the Spring 2020 and Fall 2020 trimesters. Payment will be made by NYCTCM via check mailed to the permanent address on file for the student.
