What is community acupuncture?
Community acupuncture is a movement to create access to acupuncture by removing the barrier of cost from healing. Treatments are given in a quiet and relaxing atmosphere in a room shared by other members of the community on commonly used points on the scalp, ears, lower arms and legs.

Patients can benefit many ways from a community setting. In our busy day of working and multitasking, this is a chance to experience the healing nature of acupuncture with colleagues, family and friends. In community acupuncture, you, the patient help to create the healing atmosphere!

Community acupuncture makes acupuncture readily available to everyone to help take care of our health and the health of our neighbors and communities.

What conditions can be treated with community acupuncture?
Community acupuncture treatments may be effective for many common conditions including:
– stress
– headache
– anxiety
– insomnia
– and many other conditions!

Points on the scalp, ears, lower arms and legs are the most commonly used.

What do I wear?
To get ready for a treatment, you just need to roll up your pant legs and shirt sleeves. If we need access to areas above the knee or up to the shoulder, we’ll ask you to wear shorts or a t-shirt for your follow up sessions.

How long is each session?
Expect your initial session to be at least 45 minutes. This includes 15 minutes paperwork time plus 30 minutes treatment time. After your initial visit, expect to be here for 30 minutes for each follow up session.
